T3 (Time To Trigger) Universal Trigger Engine
SoniqWare releases T3 (Time To Trigger), a stereo MIDI trigger engine that listen to incoming audio, detects new events, and sends MIDI notes with appropriate dynamics and pan to control a drum sampler or any other synthesizer, all this live. To be used for drum replacement or synthesizer control
through audio, in combination with any plug-in or external synthesizer.

Sound Samples
Original input audio track
Replacement or mix with drum/percussion synth sound triggered using T3
Drum Roll 1
Replaced snare drum roll.
Hand Drum
A lot of ghost hits from a very expressive performance, may require some HP filtering for more accurate triggering (500 Hz). Here, original sound mixed with Udu hand percussion triggered using T3.
Drum Loop
Drum mixes are a piece of cake too. Here, original sound mixed with analog drum synth sounds triggered using T3. Note: this required shifting midi notes up and down to trigger the proper sounds, after detection by T3.
Drum Roll 2
Snare drum rolls with fast hits and a lot of resonance. Replace by other snare drum sound triggered using T3.
Woodblock 1
Having some some fun with a frog woodblock percussion. Sound replaced by Gourd hand percussion triggered using T3.
Woodblock 2
Frog woodblock again, this time generating rolls. Original sound mixed with kick drum sound triggered using T3 to add energy at the bottom.
High-Hat
Expressive hi-hat roll. Original sound mixed with ride cymbal sound from drum synth triggered using T3.
Tabla
Control a synth with a percussive instrument, f.i. an indian tabla in this example. Original sound here mixed with Udu hand drum triggered using T3.
Multiple controls of the detection engine: High-pass and low-pass filters, detection sensitivity and threshold, guard time, percussive and sustained modes.
Velocity control curve: Linear and non-linear curve with continuous adjustment to map from input signal loudness to MIDI velocity.
Continuous live tracking of loundness and stereo pan: Low-pass filter to avoid spurious loudness and pan jitter, manual mode to generate fixed MIDI velocity and/or MIDI stereo pan values.
Description
SoniqWare releases T3 (Time To Trigger), a stereo MIDI trigger engine that listen to incoming audio, detects new events, and sends MIDI notes with appropriate dynamics and pan to control a drum sampler or any other synthesizer, all this live. To be used for drum or sound replacement, in combination with any external or software synthesizer.
Features
fast and accurate detection engine
pinpoint frequency band used for detection using low-pass and high-pass filters
control both detection sensitivity and detection loudness threshold
adjustable guard to avoid faulty double triggering
percussive trigger mode, to be used for instance for drum replacement
sustained trigger mode, where sustained sound generate sustained MIDI notes
MIDI channel, program, and note control
continuously adjustable dynamics curve, linear and non-linear
velocity and pan captured from the input signal
velocity tracking in sustained mode: expressive changes in the loudness will generate appropriate MIDI expression messages
pan tracking in sustained mode: a left-right panned input audio will generate a left-right panned MIDI note
graphical display: signal loudness and internal detection signal
T3 (Time To Trigger) is currently available as VST plugin for Windows and Mac OS X. Support for other formats and platforms may be developed in the future.
