SoniqWare MT-1 is a professional stereo multiband transient processor. With MT-1, you will be able to modify the attack and release content of most sounds, using settings that can be adjusted individually in four frequency bands. We hope that you will enjoy this product!
MT-1 multiband behavior is obtained using three low-latency linear-phase perfect reconstruction crossover filters. These filters have adjustable slopes and their cutoff frequencies can be tuned on a wide frequency range. Each of the four signals is then routed to its own individual transient processor. These make use of very fast detection algorithms, and provide attack time and gain controls, release time and gain controls, as well as a make-up gain. These controls provide the necessary operating ranges to be able to emphasize, or else trim down the attack and release parts of the signal. Radical alterations to the nature of individual sounds can hence be obtained, making them punchier (for instance when emphasizing the attack, or attenuating the release), or making them softer (for instance when attenuating the attack), all this with different settings possible on the four frequency bands.
Several other features have also been included in MT-1 for enhanced usability, and versatility. First, each band can be played solo. This makes it easier to adjust the crossover filter properties, and the transient processor parameters for the selected band. Also, a link button is provided. When link is on, adjusting a parameter for a particular band will also modify the same parameter for the other bands. This allows for fast initial setting, with fine tuning finally made with link to off. Besides, a channels selection box lets you decide on which signal MT-1 operates. It actually provides a M/S matrix encoding of the stereo signal, in addition to the L/R encoding. Finally, the interface also allows to store and retrieve programs. MT-1 also allows automation and handles all professional sample rates.
MT-1 will work best on percussive material. In some contexts, you may also find it useful on other instrumental sounds, or on voice. During mixdown, in conjunction with a parametric equalizer, MT-1 provides a complementary way to make particular tracks stand out.
